Carlos César Rodríguez
Acclaimed by the Washington Post as a “powerful…virtuoso…masterful pianist”, Carlos César Rodríguez is a musician of brilliance and versatility, who not only generates excitement in the Hispanic and Spanish repertoire but also displays an extraordinary flair for Mozart, the Romantics and the Avant-garde. His CD, España en el corazón, won highest critical acclaim. After solo-orchestral debuts at age 11 in Venezuela, Carlos appeared throughout Europe and the Americas, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the White House, National Gallery of Art, Merkin Hall, the 92nd St Y, and the Mozarteum. He has performed with Denyce Graves, Jessye Norman and Plácido Domingo. A Georg Solti Foundation fellowship recipient, Carlos has conducted Zarzuela and Opera in the US and beyond. Founding Artistic Director of RÓMEZ3arts (dedicated to building community through inter-cultural exchange) and Music Director of WORD Dance Theatre, he is on faculty at Levine Music in Washington, DC.
