Stephen Goist
Viola, Baroque Viola
Stephen Goist enjoys a multifaceted career as an orchestral player, chamber musician, and historical performance specialist based in New York City. A graduate of The Juilliard School and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Stephen has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, India, and New Zealand. Stephen is a member of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio, and is an active performer in New York's early music community. He has appeared as soloist with Catacoustic Consort, Seven Hills Baroque, and New York Baroque Incorporated, and he regularly performs with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, The Handel and Haydn Society, The English Concert, and the Charleston Symphony. Additionally, he is principal violist for Teatro Nuovo, a New York-based opera company specializing in bel canto repertoire on period instruments.
