Three works from Mozart's later years show the many sides of his genius. Wind music adapted from the lyrical highlights of The Magic Flute start the program, which closes with one of Mozart's masterful string quintets. In between, composer-in-residence Zachary Wadsworth updates one of the favored pasttimes of 18th-century parties: the musical dice game, where high art and happenstance come together.
