Šarūnas Jankauskas enjoys a rewarding career in various musical contexts and serves as Professor of Clarinet at James Madison University. His performance engagements have taken him through Europe, Canada, Brazil and various regions of the US, in solo appearances with Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Round Rock Symphony, collegiate and festival ensembles, as well as collaborations with St. Petersburg String Quartet, Jasper String Quartet and Third Coast Chamber Collective. He participated at International Conservatory Week Festival (St. Petersburg, Russia), Musicalis Daunia (Italy), SoundSpace at Blanton, Chamber Music at the Barn, KNOB Festival, Electroacoustic Barn Dance, numerous ICA ClarinetFests© and various new music symposiums. His recent commissioning project culminated in Duos, an album released by Soundset Recordings. Šarūnas studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and received degrees from Grand Valley State University, Rice University and The University of Texas at Austin.
