
Angela Young Smucker

Mezzo-Soprano
Dr. Angela Young Smucker has built a multifaceted career of performance, nonprofit administration, and education over the past 20+ years. Praised for her “robust, burnished, timbre” (Chicago Classical Review), “luscious mezzo voice” (Chicago Tribune) and “powerful stage presence” (The Plain Dealer), Angela has been a featured soloist with Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Bach Festival, Haymarket Opera, Third Coast Baroque, Bach Collegium San Diego, and more. She has also appeared with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Conspirare, Seraphic Fire, and other distinguished choral ensembles. When she's not onstage, Angela is Director of Athletic Development at Stetson University. Passionate about lifelong learning, she holds multiple degrees–DMA from Northwestern University, MM from University of Minnesota, and BME from Valparaiso University–and is currently pursuing an MBA from Stetson University and accreditation as a Certified Fund Raising Executive.
