Elijah McCormack, male soprano, performs both concert and operatic repertoire across the United States and beyond. He has sung as both a soloist and ensemble member with organizations such as Washington Bach Consort, Seraphic Fire, The Crossing, American Bach Soloists, Ensemble Altera, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Dallas Bach Society, ChamberQUEER, Harmonia Stellarum, and Ars Lyrica Houston. Opera credits include Lowell House Opera’s world premiere of NIGHTTOWN (Bell[x] Cohen); Haymarket Opera Company’s Artaserse (Semira) and L’incoronazione di Poppea (Amore/Valletto); INSeries Opera’s The Return of Ulysses (Telemachus) and Poppea (Cupid/Valletto); and IlluminArts Miami’s Turn of the Screw (Miles). Awards: Handel Aria Competition 2024 first prize winner and audience favorite; 2023 Lyndon-Woodside Oratorio Competition second prize. He received his Master’s degree in Historical Performance at Indiana University, where he studied with Steven Rickards.
