Paula Waisman

Baroque Violin

Paula Waisman is an accomplished violinist specializing in historically informed performance. She studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (Netherlands) and has performed for over two decades with leading early music ensembles, including Le Concert des Nations under Jordi Savall and Les Musiciens du Louvre under Marc Minkowski, as well as Harmonie Universelle, Anima Eterna, Ensemble Elyma, Le Concert d’Astrée, Ensemble Pygmalion, Capriccio Stravagante, Il Complesso Barocco (Alan Curtis), Café Zimmermann, and Artaserse. She currently lives in Paris and serves as Principal Second Violin with Teatro Nuovo in New York, where she plays a central role in period-instrument opera productions. She has frequently traveled to Argentina, where she developed an active pedagogical career and led chamber music and orchestral performances from the violin, notably with Ensemble Parthenia and the Orquesta Barroca Argentina.
