Robin Bier
Contralto
Praised for her “inimitable, resonant contralto” (Phindie) and “particularly moving singing” (Cleveland Classical), contralto Robin Bier enjoys a varied career of solo and ensemble singing with an emphasis on the music of the Renaissance, Baroque, and the present day. In addition to solo appearances with the American Bach Soloists, Bach Festival of Philadelphia, English Symphony Orchestra, Yorkshire Baroque Soloists, and Brandywine Baroque, Robin has performed and recorded with the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Everlasting Voices, Clarion, Apollo’s Fire, and many others. Recent engagements include performances with the Washington Bach Consort and the Glacier Symphony. Originally from Alaska, Robin received degrees in voice performance and environmental studies from Oberlin College and Conservatory, as well her masters in solo-voice ensemble singing and PhD in Musicology from the University of York in England.
