Choral Director, collaborative pianist and organist Virginia Bolena enjoys the many dimensions of her full-time work as a church musician while also balancing work as a professional performer in the Staunton region and beyond. At Trinity Episcopal Church, Staunton, she directs four choirs, one of which will undertake a weeklong residency at Wells Cathedral in 2024. Outside of Trinity, Virginia works as a collaborative pianist and a piano and organ instructor and enjoys performing with other musicians, including at Staunton Music Festival. She has performed for the Organ Historical Society, played recitals in such notable venues as Saint Thomas Church (NYC), Oxford Town Hall (UK), and Interlochen Center for the Arts (MI), and has toured with Heifetz International String Institute. She completed graduate work at East Carolina University, studying organ with Janette Fishell and choral conducting with Dan Bara.
