COVID-19 Protocols for Concerts  |  August 2021

In order to ensure the health and safety of all guests, staff, and performers at the 2021 Staunton Music Festival, the following protocols and procedures are expected to be in place for August.  Please note that conditions may change, causing us to revise, remove, or add further guidelines.  Your well-being is our top priority as we transition back to live events.

  • Masks covering the mouth and nose will be either required or recommended to be worn by all persons (with exceptions allowed for wind musicians and vocalists during performance and rehearsal), per state health guidelines as of August 13, 2021.  The Festival will provide complimentary masks for any patron who arrives at the performance without one.

  • Staunton Music Festival reserves the right to remove or exclude anyone who does not follow the stated mask policy at the time of the event.  Please do your part to make yourself and others safe and comfortable.

  • Most venues will have separate doorways for entering and exiting traffic.  Please follow the instructions provided by signage and ushers.

  • Please stay home if you exhibit any symptoms related to COVID-19 (fever, persistent dry cough, recent loss of taste or smell) within 24 hours of the performance.  Staunton Music Festival will be happy to offer you an exchange, donation credit, or refund if you are unable to attend due to illness.

  • Seating will be handled by ushers. We are currently developing multiple seating options that will respect both everyone's safety and comfort, as well as the demand for admission to each event. One possible model involves offering patrons a choice to sit in areas of closer proximity (i.e., low spacing, similar to pre-COVID conditions) or more distance (high spacing, keeping 6-8 feet between patrons/couples). This option may still exist even if state guidelines do not mandate physical distancing.

  • Please use hand sanitizer when convenient and after using shared facilities (doors, railings, restrooms, elevators, etc.).

Thank you for your help and cooperation!
