COVID-19 Protocols for Concerts  |  August 2021

In order to ensure the health and safety of all guests, staff, and performers at the 2021 Staunton Music Festival, the following protocols and procedures are expected to be in place for August.  Please note that conditions may change, causing us to revise, remove, or add further guidelines.  Your health and safety is our top priority as we transition back to live events.  The Festival will develop its guidelines based on data and recommendations provided by the CDC and the Staunton-Augusta Health Dept.

Update as of August 5, 2021: The Staunton-Augusta region is experiencing SUBSTANTIAL coronavirus cases, driven by the Delta variant. Per CDC guidelines, masks should be worn by all persons in indoor settings and in large outdoor gatherings. Your best protection against infection is getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, and maintaining physical distance in situations where exposure is likely high.

Please stay home if you exhibit any symptoms related to COVID-19 (fever, persistent dry cough, recent loss of taste or smell) within 24 hours of the performance.

  • ALL PERSONS (including those who are vaccinated) MUST WEAR A MASK COVERING THE NOSE AND MOUTH WHEN INDOORS AT STAUNTON MUSIC FESTIVAL.
Masks are also recommended to be worn when in crowded situations outdoors, such as waiting to enter the concert and during intermission. The Festival will provide complimentary masks for any patron who arrives at the performance without one.  Anyone refusing to wear a mask when inside the performance venue will be escorted outside and offered a full refund.

  • WE STRONGLY DISCOURAGE NON-VACCINATED PATRONS FROM ATTENDING FOR THEIR SAFETY.
The Delta variant of coronavirus is particularly lethal to the non-vaccinated, and any person (regardless of vaccine status) can carry the virus without showing symptoms. Attending an indoor concert with 200+ other persons puts the non-vaccinated person and their contacts at great risk of becoming ill and continuing to spread the coronavirus.

To help, the Festival will offer a free livestream of all concerts held at Trinity Episcopal Church,
and anyone may receive a full refund for tickets purchased.

If you or a member of your party are not vaccinated, and you still plan to attend, please call us at (540) 569-0267 so that we can arrange seats for you in a distanced location.

  • REFUNDS ARE EASY AND FREE.
Your comfort and the safety of all people involved is very important.  Staunton Music Festival will be happy to offer you an exchange, donation credit, or full refund if you are unable or no longer interested to attend.  Please stay home if you exhibit any symptoms related to COVID-19 (fever, persistent dry cough, recent loss of taste or smell) within 24 hours of the performance.

  • SEATING WILL BE HANDLED BY THE USHERS.
Within each seating section, patrons will have a choice to sit in areas of closer proximity (i.e., low spacing, similar to pre-COVID conditions) or more distance (high spacing, keeping 3-6 feet between patrons/couples). This option may still exist even if state guidelines do not mandate physical distancing.

  • PLEASE USE HAND SANITIZER AFTER USING SHARED FACILITIES (doors, railings, restrooms, elevators, etc.).  Certain areas and facilities will be reserved for use by artists and staff only.  Please respect these measures in order to protect the health of the musicians and Festival staff.
